GPT Update & More Lyrics of the Day

I actually felt somewhat useful today in Game Production Team, and as a whole the project made some nice strides, there are many issues remaining to be tackled, but we must be happy that accomplishments are being made. GPT is much like the rest of life: work is long and frustrating, and the fruits of labor often overshadow the work of the seeds being sown to start the process. Those achievements are often attributed to others. The trick is finding a way to be satisfied with that fruit, no matter who receives the accolades for its production...

In the end one must ask themselves whether those achievements in private are enough to keep moving forward with, and ultimately will they satisfy us... creatively, emotionally, intellectually, spirtually.... whatever. I am hoping that many small victories will be enough to outweigh the large losses... that's life and that's this project for now...

And today's Lyrics brought to us by Colin Hay, formerly of Men at Work.

WAITING FOR MY REAL LIFE TO BEGIN

Any minute now, my ship is coming in
I'll keep checking the horizon
I'll stand on the bow, feel the waves come crashing
Come crashing down down down, on me

And you say, be still my love
Open up your heart
Let the light shine in
But don't you understand
I already have a plan
I'm waiting for my real life to begin

When I awoke today, suddenly nothing happened
But in my dreams, I slew the dragon
And down this beaten path, and up this cobbled lane
I'm walking in my old footsteps, once again
And you say, just be here now
Forget about the past, your mask is wearing thin
Let me throw one more dice
I know that I can win
I'm waiting for my real life to begin

Any minute now, my ship is coming in
I’ll keep checking the horizon
And I'll check my machine, there's sure to be that call
It's gonna happen soon, soon, soon
It's just that times are lean

And you say, be still my love
Open up your heart, let the light shine in
Don't you understand
I already have a plan
I'm waiting for my real life to begin
